tmilstein's Personal Bio

I've been married for fifteen years, and I have two children, ages eleven and seven. My B.A is in History, with a Political Science minor. My M.A is also in History. Before becoming a Substitute, I had been a Teaching Assistant in the seventh-grade from September 2003-June 2004, and the fifth-grade from September 2004-March 2009. Once my youngest child began kindergarten, I decided to look for full-time work. I resigned from my job in March because the Assistant Principal at my school thought being a Substitute would give me more teaching experience in the upper grades and help me make contacts in other schools. I also write children's books, but have not yet been published (From a query or partial, I've had full manuscripts requested a couple of times). My books are mostly middle-grade and YA. I belong to SCBWI, NESCBWI, and Jacketflap.
