Okay, this is my first educator blog. I've written personal blogs on myspace.com, but this feels different and weird.

So, I guess introductions are in order. I teach 11th & 12th grade English at a vocational school in south western Ohio. This is my 9th year as a teacher. My first five years were in a middle school setting. I loved working with the kids, but I wasn't thrilled with the micro-managing tyrant who called himself a principal. Plus, the community was very uptight and wealthy; I come from a purely blue collar background so it was a major culture clash for me. Teaching in a vocational school is a much better fit for me...even if I do get frustrated with my students' apathy/hatred for all things academic.Smile

Not sure what else to say, but I guess it'd be cool to hear from others who teach in a similar setting.

      I'll write more later!
