Summers go by fast, and before you know it, school is back in session. It's easy for students to forget some of those reading skills during those "lazy, hazy, crazy" days of summer, and a lot of parents are looking for summer reading ideas. Readingrockets.org has a list of awesome ideas to print and hand out to your students designed for summer reading fun. (After you see all of the great stuff they've compiled into one neat page, you'll probably find it useful during the regular school year too.)
Reading Rockets has packed a "virtual beach bag" of activities for teachers to help families get ready for summer and to launch students to fun, enriching summertime experiences. Educators will find materials to download and distribute as well as ideas and resources to offer to students and parents to help ensure summer learning gain rather than loss.
Everyone should be able to find something that works for them. There's a lot to choose from, and it's all neatly presented on one printable page.
Teachers, parents, and grandparents will have a great time checking out all of the ideas. Oh, that includes me! Let the fun begin.
