I have survived some pretty tough evaluations. Some still cause me to have bad dreams. I ran across a great post on The Elementary Educator that kind of tells it like it is. It reminded me of one of my first experiences of teaching second grade. I was at the end of what I considered a super duper awesome lesson when one of my delightful students raised her hand. Feeling that surge of pride that comes with a job well done, I called on her. She asked me if she could go to the bathroom. Of course, all of the air was let out of my balloon, but I learned a very valuable lesson. Students are always following their own agendas.
