Traits of a successful teacher

In my class for my masters we are discussing and reading what type of traits sucessful teachers acquire.  It goes beyond just being a professional.  Here are some characteristics:

personality, self and student expectations, self awareness, acceptance of student differences, providing a save environment, knowledge of the curriculum, how the teacher delivers the lessons, communication with educators and parents, keeping up to date with resouces and materials, cont. to learn, knowing the students, investing time in the students and more.

I would like to get your opinions on what makes a teacher successful.  Be open and honest, I am!

love of teaching, first; consistency (creates fairness); a habit of reflection (especially on lesson presentation); great listening skills (even harsh student feedbacks); commitment to giving nothing short of your best, daily, to your students & supporting staff

Get the most out of the master's program; expand on the experience.

All with love - Ms. J
