The PLT is the "Principles of Learning and Teaching" that are divided into three levels: K-6, 5-9, 9-12. Students in teacher education programs must pass the Praxis I series of tests (math, reading, and writing) before they are recommended for student teaching. However NCLB, has created the need for many changes in how things are done in all states. In my next blog posting, I would like to explore how NCLB changes have impacted the certification and HQ requirements in your state or school district.
