I'm In the Money, I'm In the Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I came home from my professional development today (hey, I'd like to take off for a WELL-deserved vacation, but it's $100/day for 4 days) to a TREMENDOUS surprise!

I logged onto my dwindling bank account, and found an extra $9,000!

Yes, the school system finally kicked in the money they've owed me all year.

No spending spree (well, maybe a little one).  Just paying down a few credit cards to zero, finally being able to start scheduling utility bills for automatic payment (the balance has been tricky for months - couldn't risk a cascade of bounced checks if I didn't work it just right), and being able to attend a conference on science that I wanted to.  Oh, and signing up for the PBS course, Seeing Math.  I took one of the series last year, and I was hooked - I learned more math in that short course than for quite some time.  It's not expensive - $199, plus another 220 for the 2 grad credits. If I work hard for the next year, I'll have my Master's + 30 = more pay.

More importantly, I'll be able to start sleeping at night, rather than waking up in a cold sweat wondering how to pay the bills this summer.

It sounds like you got the money just in time.  Enjoy your summer now that some of the pressure is gone.  The math course sounds great.
