In 4th grade I am teaching the kids to take notes on important items that we are learning.  Then before the test, we put the notes together (I make sure every question will be covered in the notes) and we study, and study.  They have no clue how to study for a test.  I too, want to make sure that they have all the information and skills necessary to be successful.  It is truly a struggle to get them to understand what studying is.  I tell them they have to read their notes 15 times in the morning and 15 times at night and think of it as trying to memorize the information.  Some get it.  Some don't.
