Not-So-Master Teacher
This blog is meant to start a dialogue about education. I tend to love the abstract, philosophical side of this vocation. I love metaphor and I'm generally uninterested in quick, seven-step solutions. Yet, I also see value in offering practical advice. Sometimes it is the simple, practical wisdom that can drastically change a classroom.
I am not a fan of online anonymity, so I'll state outright who I am: I am John Spencer, a social studies teacher at a low-income middle school in Phoenix. I love my job. I have a beautiful wife, Christy and two amazing sons.
