The last first-day-of-class
This afternoon, my adorably excited education professor gave us a brown paper bag and markers and asked us to write our names on it.
One by one, she gave us different items to put in this bag.
But this was no ordinary bag. This bag was magical.
This bag would define the next 15 weeks.

In it... teacher training trinkets.

A lifesaver to remind you that you may be the one to save the bright light in a child.
A band-aid to patch up hurts.
A crayon to color your day bright and cheerful.
A toothpick to help you "pick" out the good qualities in others and yourself.
A Hershey's Kiss for when you need some TLC.
A button to remind you to button it up  - stop and think before you speak.
An eraser to remind you everyone makes mistakes.
A rubber band to remind you to be flexible.
Marbles to replace the ones you're going to lose.
Tissue to dry tears.
A paper clip to hold it all together.
Stickers to remind you that we all stick together and help each other.
A jewel to remember how valuable you are to your students.

I especially liked the toothpick.
Student-teaching is going to be intense... but it's going to be so rewarding.
Mr. Wong, here I come!

Mr. Wong! I really enjoyed reading your blog. Keep on writing! Me too - I liked the "toothpick" the most. Oh, I also liked the "Eraser" too =)

Have a lovely time with your students!
