Teacher-in-Progress
My professors say student-teaching is a very precious time; a time that they look back on with the fondest of memories.
In spirit of this "precious" experience, I thought it would be cool to record (and look back on) my thoughts, lessons and vocational development as I dive onto on the learning curve of student-teaching.

I am currently in my senior Spring semester at Duke University, and am placed in a wonderfully diverse and dynamic third-grade classroom in the Durham Public School system.

I will begin my student-teaching internship on Tuesday.

Precious? For me, student teaching was like Boot Camp for teachers.  Having my own classroom was actually much easier.

I too am student teaching this semester. I am a senior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I will begin my classroom experience on Feb. 8th in a special education classroom at the middle school. My mentor teacher accommodates both 7th and 8th grade students.

Good luck with student teaching.  It sounds like you are in a good situation.  I agree with jtspencer that having your own class is a lot easier.
