We're doing a literacy unit with photography, and want students to capture writable moments with photographs. To prepare students, we had them make four lists that would get them thinking about the things that do and do not mean a lot to them.
When we were writing in the likes and dislikes columns, one of the kids, who is round-faced, raises his hand to answer questions without knowing what he is going to say - and sometimes before the question is even asked, and with two symmetrically missing teeth, said to me,
"
Mr. W! I love everything!"
"You love everything? You have no dislikes?"
Beaming, he repeats,
"
No, I love everything!"
Oh, kids. :)
