Mysterious Teaching

Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

I'm done moving...

OK. So I'm not done.  I left the rest for the maintenance guys to move.  I went out again and moved all the loose stuff that my enthusiastic students grabbed and moved before I had a chance to box it up.  I left the big and heavy boxes for the men to move.  It is time for me to face the fact that I am getting old.  I just don't have the stamina that I used to.  I still think I am about 19 when in fact I will be 55 later this year.  My grey hair is not highlighting like I have told people for the last few years.  My wrinkles are not placed on my face on purpose to give myself a distinctive air.  I am just freaking getting old.  My knees are bad, my shoulder has arthritis and hurts all the time and now I find out I am deaf in my left ear and I need a hearing aid.  I guess it is time for orthopedic shoes and a cane.
