Mysterious Teaching

Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Why does my butt hurt? No! Really!

Is it because I am now standing and sitting and standing and sitting in the classroom after not doing it for an entire summer?  My Glutes are aching sore.  I am not wearing heels either now because my feet hurt too.  I just wondered if anyone else experiences this muscle soreness at the beginning of the year or is age really grabbing me by the buttocks.  I have done a little climbing up to put up heat resistant curtains but that was only one day and I hurt before and after I did that.  Maybe it is the chair I'm using and lack of podium to lean against.  I don't know what is causing it but I am literally dragging it out of school each afternoon and taking Tylenol every night to releave the ache.

I have a great class so they aren't the ones giving me a pain.  I am going to lay my money on old age.

About MysteryTeacher

I am 53 years old and have been teaching for 20 years this year. I have two daughters and two grandaughters and two son-in-laws, all of whom I adore. I love to travel with friends but I am now saving for retirement in about 14 years. I am becoming technologically educated. Since digital is the 21st century than I believe that teachers should too. We need to be educated enough to understand our students. I have a teaching degree, a masters degree, an ESL endorsement and a Gifted endorsement.
