Insights behind the perils of being a teacher

Is it officially the grumpy time of year?

Whoa!  The staff around me is in a global bad mood.  I checked, the moon is at half.  So, why do we seem to have so many grumpy people around here?

The sun is shining, my Desert Lilacs are in full bloom and just beautiful, my Joseph's Coat roses are a mass of color, my flower garden is struggling to come out of the ground.  The weather is just gorgeous and I don't understand why we have so many nasty people around here.

If we were back east or up north where it is still snowing, I could maybe understand it.  But, we're in Arizona!  For Heaven's Sake get with the Spring!

Spring break is only 2 weeks away.  Surely you can last 2 more weeks.  Of course, some of them have been grumpy all year.  Maybe I am just noticing it now.  Maybe they have been grumpy all year.

I had a teacher come up to me and say, "You sure have a person on your team with no sense of humor."  I said, "Yep!  Ms. X is driving me crazy right now."  She said, "Oops, I guess you have two teachers on your team with no sense of humor. I was talking about Ms. Y"

I agree. It is time to cheer up. I also have people on my team that have been grumpy all year. Just think if we as adults notice a bad attitude, think about the students.

About MysteryTeacher

I am 53 years old and have been teaching for 20 years this year. I have two daughters and two grandaughters and two son-in-laws, all of whom I adore. I love to travel with friends but I am now saving for retirement in about 14 years. I am becoming technologically educated. Since digital is the 21st century than I believe that teachers should too. We need to be educated enough to understand our students. I have a teaching degree, a masters degree, an ESL endorsement and a Gifted endorsement.
