Summer is almost over

So I looked at the calendar today and realized that summer is almost over, at least here in our district. I can hardly believe it. By the time we get from vacation the kids will only have 2 weeks left of summer vacation. It has flown by. That also means that it is back to wrok for me. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to it. I miss being in the classroom everyday. I miss the students. I say all this now but by October I will be looking forward to fall break, because the students are driving me nuts.

Okay enough of that. Off to enjoy my vacation.

I've always wanted to know-- how much money do teachers spend each year on field trips? How much does the school give you, and how much do you have to ask parents for?

Sarah,

As I will be teaching high school and have been subbing, the experience I have with field trips is that of a parent. Depending on the field trip I have to pay some. Sometimes the PTA picks up the tab and sometimes no. It varies from school to school.
