Children's Books
I am trying to start a nice collection of children's books and thought I'd share it with everyone on here. If you have one or many favorite children's books please leave a comment of what they are. Thank you for your help and take care.

The Kissing Hand

I cannot think of the author, but this is a great book to read to young kids the first day or two of school.

The Box Car Children.  It is a great short chapter book that helps children learn to wait for what happens next.  I still wish I could live in a box car and dig my own swimming pool.

The Kissing Hand is by Audrey Penn. It's an excellent book for the first few days of school. It's about a little raccoon getting ready to start his first day of school. Throughout the story his fears of starting school are discussed. In addtion, if you search the internet.. there are many activites to go along with the book.

I really like to start the year with A Porcupine Named Fluffy by Helen Lester and The Crayon Box That Talked by Shane DeRolf. Both of these books deal with getting along with others and how we are stronger when we work together.

I like the Magic Tree House books by Mary Osborne Pope.  I feel they help children start learning how to think deeper and try to solve the mystery.
