National Board Certification

Published 13 September 08 12:55 PM | fravan
I am working on National Board Certification this year in World Languages. I have National Board in AYA Social Studies but, in order to get the state offered stipend, I have to add World Languages. Long Story. Anyway, I am wondering if anyone else is going through the process and would be willing to collaborate. When I went through the process in 2000, I had a couple of colleagues who were going through the process. This time around, I am the only one in my district going through this. Let me know either here or at my e-mail. Ravanfamily@aol.com

How complicated of a process it is?  I've always thought about doing it, but I have so many other things on my plate that I can't add another until I take at least one off... but then again, when am I really going to have "free" time to look into this?

Do you have a link with World-Languages-specific info (I also teach Spanish)?

:)

The web page for the National Board can be found at http://nbpts.org/

It is a year long process and involves a lot of work.

Good luck Fravan.  I became certified in 03; aya social studies.  I've also organized, presented and taught a bunch of seminars related to the certification process.  Yahoo has a NB group and I would assume they have people in your certificate area.
