Outstanding blog.  I am down-sizing right now too.  I am letting my children have the things around here they really want.  Other items I put out on the sidewalk with a sign that says free and whether it works, needs fixing or what.  It is usually gone really quick.  Now, if I buy clothes or shoes, I have to give up one like item.  If I go through my closet and get rid of many things, it is no longer a cause to go shopping.  It is now a celebration of less.  I even started cleaning out my classroom and giving things away.  Most of my teaching books are in the teacher center of the Library at school.  I have spent thousands over the years on this stuff and it is time to reduce and let others reuse.  It truly does reduce stress.

That's a great idea. When you buy something, it becomes a replacement rather than an addition. I have too many DVDs and video games (I haven't played XBox or watched TV since February). I think I'll go sell them this week. "Free money" :)
