Who's On Second?

Blog for second grade teachers, but all are welcome!

Oops! I saw your underwear!

Embarrassed I was just thinking about some of my students from the past year, and I remembered a funny incident that happened in class.  Gordan was the tallest boy in the class, very smart, and had a quirky personality to go along with his observant nature.  One day during class, I apparently bent over to pick up something from the floor.  I don't even remember what it was, but I do recall that I was wearing a pair of "below the waist" pants.  A little later during our silent reading time, Griffin came up to me and asked if he could speak to me in private.  I could see that he had something very serious to say from the look on his face. I took him aside and he said, "Uh, Uh, Mrs. S., um, well, um, when you bent down I saw your, uh, uh, your underwear."  I said, "Oh, well thank you for telling me.  I'll be more careful next time."  Then he looks at me in a weird way, and after a few seconds, he says, "Well, that's okay.  I'm going to try to forget it."

I had to hold in the laughter that was inside me at his remark!  I guess it was such a hideous sight that he was going to try to erase the whole thing from his memory! ha! ha!  It really gave us a good laugh when I told my teammates  about it at lunch.

Back about 18 years ago when the middle school was part of our elementary school, some 7th grade girls were chasing a boy across the playground and they PANTSED him.  When his pants came down, so did his underware.  I saw it all.  I was on duty.  I think I went blind for a few minutes while I screamed at him to "Pull them up! Pull them up!"  I then took them all to the office.  The worst part was his BENDING OVER to pull them up.  It was the first time I had ever seen a full montey on a kid and I never want to again.

That was a great story!  Good thing we can find the humor in these situations!
