    New Zealand Teacher

    Hi Everybody!

Just to introduce myself:  I have been teaching since 1987, previously in South Africa, but since 2006 here in New Zealand. I am married, with 4 busy teenage children, all still in High School.

I love teaching, always have, and am enjoying it now more than ever before.  I am fortunate to have a great class, am at a lovely school and my students are inspiring.  And if you think it sounds too good to be true, yes, I have the normal headaches and irritations that we all have.  And the end-of-term grumps, too.  But all in all teaching is what I love doing, and what makes me tick!  One thing that has kept me going for all these years, is that things keep changing and improving.  Every year I try out new things, and I've never stopped learning. I love using the newest computer technology, and I think teachers are some of the most up-to-date users of all.  I'm looking forward to reading some of the great ideas and thoughts in this teachers community!

I am so glad you found TeacherLingo.  I look forward to reading your posts.  My son just returned from a business trip to New Zealand.  He came back with some great stories and pictures.
Learning continues to be fun and keeps us young.

    Thanks, Betty.

New Zealand is a great place to live. It is a beautiful country, and the weather is good too!  In Auckland we have a mild climate, and it never gets too hot or too cold.  Teaching here is great too, especially as we have such up-to-date resources and eLearning facilities.  I am enjoying reading TeacherLingo.  It's great to stay in touch and learn from the global teaching community!
