Long car pick up lines seem to plague all elementary schools.
The CarRiderSign was developed to help schools eliminate long car pick-up lines and get the children into the proper vehicles quickly and safely.
The signs attach to the visor of any car. The sign itself slides up and down on the visor for easy storage. The sign is clearly visible from more than 250 feet away so that the school administrator or volunteer assisting the children can have the kids “on deck” and ready when the car arrives.
The sign was designed to have the child’s grade written on the top line and last name written on the bottom line, both in black permanent ink. The black permanent ink allows for better visibility, ensures the information can not be changed, and protects the ink from smudging on the sign or rubbing off on the car’s visor.
The signs themselves are only shipped to school principals. This information is verified prior to shipping. This ensures the signs do not get into the wrong hands.
There are many different ways to fund and pay for the signs. Some schools buy the signs out of their budget and either absorb the cost, sell the signs to the parents at cost or sell the signs with a small mark up creating a fundraiser. Other schools look to there PTAs/PTOs for funding. And still others look to local businesses which want to support safety in the school.
