There are quite a few for-pay ones, but the last time I checked they weren't cheap.  I found two free ones:  http://www.ptcfast.com (which is specifically for parent-teacher conferences) and http://www.volunteerspot.com/ (which is for signups for different stuff including volunteering and parent teacher conferences).  We are going to try one of these soon...

I think it is wonderful that you can now schedule these online. We are certainly becoming a high tech society!

Scheduling is always a pain because many moms and dads work during
the times.

In actuality, these conferences are not as important as they once were.
It's quite old fashioned. It was really the only reliable way to discuss
things with a parent.

Nowadays, with email and internet, a parent-teacher conference should
almost be a non issue. A parent should know already what's up. Teachers
today need to do a better job of informing parents. Elementary teachers
have unique opportunities to interact with parents:
