Teachers and Professors: Would you prefer to teach in private or public schools?

I am conducting a study for a school assignment and want to know which teaching setting do teachers (active or inactive) prefer. Given the nature of this generational cohort and these economic times, which teaching setting is preferred amongst teachers and professors: Public or Private? If you are or have taught, please provide the sector in which you teach and how many years you've taught.
