I was once collecting a bag of objects for a writing assignment...the kids were going to have to study the man's "rubbish" and do descriptions of him and complete some narrative writing or problem solving...and my cleaner threw it out too. Sigh. Have not had the mood to start collecting fictional rubbish ever since.

Yep - don't you hate it when kids like this land up ruining a lesson you spent ages planning.
Parents should be teaching their children reslience ...not how to be teacups and dependent adults.

Our school is looking at implementing a new spelling program and throwing out the one we are currently using. In all my years as a special education teacher I have never used a specific spelling program but have rather been eclectic in my choices.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions are want to share names of successful spelling programs ...
