Christmas in July- Again!

Last year we celebrated a Christmas in July at school. We did many things and we had a wonderful time together. As the school policy doesn't allow me to show pics of the kids, I uploaded the activities we did in class. You can read more about our celebration and download a bunch of jolly freebies in my blog.

I know, I know...many of you are already on break, (yes, I am very jealous) but you could always tuck them away for next year!

Day 1...TBAs 25 Days of Gifts

On the first day of TBAs 25 Days of Gifts, Mrs. Parker gave to me..... a freebie and a cookie recipe. ( I hope you sang this as you read.)

I love teaching math this year because of the virtual collaboration I have found via blogging. I feel more confident, better organized, and willing to try new things. I created this freebie to help your students use the Hundreds Chart to identify 1 more, 1 less, 10 more and 10 less. (To read more about this inspiration read here and here. ) Although, I currently teach kindergarten, I remember what a struggle this was for my first graders.

This little snow person can be used as a visual graphic organizer to help your students. Included in your freebie is also a game for your math centers. I hope this will be a perfect fit for your classroom this winter season.

And, if you are like me, the holidays only mean one thing....FOOD. Here is a cookie recipe that has been in my husband's family since 1935. These meringue-like cookies are my absolute favorite. I give them as gifts every year!
