There are SO many things going this weekend:

- February newsletter goes out later tonight

- the Super Bowl Weekend Sale

- my Classroom DIY post goes out tomorrow

But I love weekends like this. There are so many awesome things going on across the blogs and you can snag so many fabulous resources and ideas!

And I guess I can't forget about the game tomorrow.

I'm not too interested in it, but hope it's a good game. :)

I'm so excited!. On Thursday we are traveling to Kansas for a 4 day weekend with old and dear friends from Kansas State University. Believe it or not I graduated in December of 1970 and haven't been back since.We will be going to our football game on Saturday and of course tailgating as well. It will be so much fun. My husband and I used to sit in the Card Section which was great because it was on the 50 yard line. This time we will need binoculars. I found a cute website with some fun football printables for your students.You can access it by clicking on the picture above.

Have you ever ran across something in a store and thought, "OMGosh! That's SO me!!!"

I had that moment, but for my blog! Here it is folks.

3rd Grade Gridiron home decor from Target!!!

I almost squealed when I saw all of this!!! I wanted to call corporate and ask if we could work out a branding deal! L-O-V-E! I have a home office and plan to do a FULL makeover this summer. Pics will definitely be shared!

All of these items were $2.50 in the little section that's right there when you first walk into Target. And no, Target's not going to work out a deal with me. But it's ok to still dream, right?! :)

Football Fun with Sunny Days!

I know the Super Bowl is over, but we're still enjoying it! Thanks to Denise at Sunny Days, we have plenty of awesome activities to keep us going! My kids are LOVING her Super Bowl unit! Here are a few of the activities we've completed:

Jersey Glyph

Football Word Problems - I cut them apart and had them work in teams to solve. Then I put each problem (one by one) under the Ladibug and we discussed how to solve as a class.

Football Compound Words (mystery picture) - they were about to explode with excitement about halfway through! "Oooh! Ooooh! I know what it is! I know what it is!!!"

My kids even asked if she had other activities such as mystery pictures for parts of speech or math problems! Denise, my kids want MORE! (SO glad they love football as much as I do!!!)

NBC Learn, in partnership with the National Science Foundation and National Football League, have created the Science of NFL Football. The site offers some really nice videos to unravel science using professional football. Newtons Laws of Motion are a highlight.

In another Stupid Move, the NFL Moves Vikings-Lions Game to Detroit

Due to the snow storm that hit Minnesota and us here in Iowa, the Metrodome Roof collapsed last night. Here is the video of the actual collapse. Pretty cool!

So the NFL has decided to move the game to Detroit and play it tomorrow night. At first, it makes sense... that is until you see the Detroit Weather Forecast:

* SNOW COVERED ROADS WITH PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS AND POOR VISIBILITY THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* STRONG NORTH WINDS DEVELOPING LATE THIS AFTERNOON WILL LEAD TO BLOWING SNOW THIS EVENING AS TEMPERATURES FALL THROUGH THE 20S. ANY SLUSHY UNTREATED ROADS WILL ICE UP EARLY THIS EVENING.
There is a very strong probability that the Detroit Airport will be closed this evening and possibly tomorrow morning. So how are the teams going to get there? Drive on Icy roads?

Sometimes I wonder what Roger Goddell and the NFL are thinking.

By The Way - I think this was all set up by Brett Favre to buy him an extra day of rest. Way to go Favre!!!

Football is Tough, But Rugby is Tougher

No Pads, no helmets and full contact. I don't think many would argue with me when I say that Rugby players have to be the toughest, craziest SOB's in the world! Look at this hit!

It was delivered by Manu Tuilagi - ASamoan professional rugby player who plays for the Leicester Tigers. Tom Williams is the recipient of the hit. He is an English rugby player who plays for Harlequins. OUCH!
