Just Kids Games is one of the sites I have added to this LiveBinder. It is a site with educational games that focus on math, science, reading and the environment. They are presented in a free and safe environment for kids to enjoy. The games are bright and colorful, sure to attract your student’s attention. There is a nice array of games to choose from. Subject covered and grade level appear below each game.

Below is a screenshot of some of their games.

Below is a screenshot of one of their games focusing on computers 4th grade level.

The games are relatively simple and easy to play, but the students do get a great “dose of the arts” while playing them. Great games to play when students have a few minutes just before the bell rings.

I think these games will reinforce recognition of works of art and artists and help familiarize students with new artists. Many of the games also have added information (history etc.) about the subject of the game. There are many types of games and investigations throughout the site. Some of the artists include Kadinsky, Picasso, Vermeer, and Dali.

There is also a ”Jr. Artsologist” section of Artsology and it is “geared towards young children up to pre-teen. The Jr. Artsologist features both games and arts investigations that can be enjoyed by younger kids, including such things as puzzles, printable coloring pages and maze pages (based on famous works of art), simple games, and more.”

Two more things…take a look at their gallery. Works of art have been uploaded from all over the world by people of all ages. This was really nice to look through and I think students would like it too. Secondly check out the Artsology video library too. It is small but features nice “arts” related videos.

I am really happy I discovered this site and plan to add it to my Interactive Art and Games for Kids LiveBinder.
