Spelling Connections is an awesome spelling resource. They provide activities/games in four categories including sorts, which is promoted at my school. See the screenshot below for all 4 categories.

From the site: Games and activities are designed to build vocabulary, develop proofreading abilities, and improve speed and fluency in spelling.

That would be great in itself but teachers can also register for free accounts for their classroom so they can monitor their students’ progress.

More from the site: This secure, password-protected teacher site contains detailed, personalized information and game results from each student’s online spelling activities.

Use this site to:
o receive quiz/game results by e-mail.
o set display alerts to easily identify below-level scores.
o generate school-to-home letters containing frequently misspelled words.
o offer your students an interactive, multimodal approach to spelling practice
o support families with home spelling practice and expert advice

Spelling Connections is a wonderful addition to the Super Spellers Livebinder where you can access many more great spelling sites for use in the classroom or at home.

Geo Greeting uses a satellite view of buildings, structures and...

Geo Greeting uses a satellite view of buildings, structures and nature to spell out words and phrases. If you hold your mouse over a letter it will tell you where the image comes from and you also have the option of seeing it on a map.

Really neat idea. Great fun for spelling practice or to use on a poster for presentation.

I’m adding this to my Super Spellers binder.
