MathPickle.com is the newest addition to my Marvelous Math Sites LiveBinder.

It is a marvelous site for grades K-12, full of puzzles and games to stretch the mind. I particularly like the way students are able to work in groups to solve problems/puzzles.

MathPickle includes:

Great videos for teachers (via Youtube) with suggestions on how to implement MathPickle resources.
Videos for students are not YouTube creations and can easily be viewed at school.
Each lesson also contains superb PowerPoint and Keynote presentations to share with students as well as printables.

I haven’t check out Arcademic Skill Builders in a while, happened upon it tonight and I found that there have been some changes. They have added some really nice games where students can play against each other in a completely safe environment. The number of players vary from 1-12. Yes, you read me right, 12! Many students at my school will love this feature.

Games are available to enrich skills in math, geography, language arts, and time. Also there are no ads which I always love.

I have updated Marvelous Math Sites and Educational Game Sites LiveBinders to include Arcademic Skill Builders. Student’s will have a great time while building their skills. Love it!

I learned about Skillwise this morning, during a webinar on storytelling, from Sue Lyon-Jones, the presenter. She was right. Skillwise is a terrific site for reinforcing reading, writing and math skills. Offered as a site for adults learning Engish I think they have some great resources for Elementary students and teachers as well.

I really like their printables and games, which can very easily be used in the classroom. I thought they were very topic specific and would certainly help reinforce skills needed.

Don’t be fooled by this plain looking site.Transom Software offers a great collection of math games where kids can time their activities and add their high score online without registration of any kind.

They have one activity for students to go through to learn a new times table in only five days (see screenshot below). Fantastic!

Transum Software also has free resources for teachers.

Tip: To view the games full screen hold the control button on your keyboard and scroll with your mouse.

Math-Salamandars is a great site with an abundance of math printables. They are categorized according to grade (K-5), topic and resource. Their worksheets are terrific and I especially liked their collection of printable games.

Vector kids is a great math site where kids can strengthen basic math as well as beginning algebra skils. It does not have many games but the ones they do are quality. Kids can practice these skills with timed flashcards (neat!), variable solving games,counting U.S. coins, geometric matching and math invaders.

*The Timed Flashcards and Variable Solving games have a high score board to gauge progress.

Mr. Nussbaum has done it again and in such a wonderful way too! Drag-n-Drop Math is a neat math tool where students can actually do the problems online as they would on paper. Students can use their mouse to make marks for carrying and borrowing. Really nice tool for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Mr. Nussbaum has lots of other great math tools. That’s why I’m adding him to my “Marvelous Math sites” LiveBinder.
